Orchidaceae are one of the largest families of angiosperms in terms of species richness, and there are many studies have provided new insights into the systematics, diversification, and biogeography of Orchidaceae. In this issue, Wang et al. presented a comprehensive synthesis of recent advances in phylogenetics, biogeography, and the mechanisms of diversification within Orchidaceae, Zhang et al. proposed a new infrageneric classification of Gastrochilus and Chen et al. provided new insights into the systematics, diversification, and biogeography of Cymbidium.
