Plant Diversity (Volume 47 | Issue 1)

Cover Story:

Saussurea is one of the largest and most rapidly evolving genera within the Asteraceae, comprising approximately 520 species from the Northern Hemisphere. For the first time, Xu et al. (p. 21) proposed a revised infrageneric taxonomy of Saussurea, which includes four subgenera and 13 sections, based on well-resolved nuclear phylogeny and morphological data. The cover shows Saussurea hengduanshanensis, an endemic species from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, southwest of China.
