Adapting to environmental changes and transitioning away from fossil fuels, while exploring natural products, are crucial for the advancement of global healthcare.  Prioritizing patient benefits, the article emphasizes the safety of both natural and synthetic medicines, proposing global research initiatives aimed at enhancing their quality, safety, and effectiveness.  Given the current influences on natural products and the impact of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions, a novel research approach is advocated to optimize the utilization of Earth's resources.  Following COP28, bioprospecting is recommended as a means to discover new bioactive compounds for synthesis.  Sustainability is emphasized, with a focus on improving patient care through enhanced practices.  Geoffrey A. Cordell has proposed 40 initiatives to promote the utilization of natural products in healthcare, aiming to engage both patients and physicians in global efforts to tackle critical challenges including sustainable development, climate change, decarbonization, quality control, product consistency, and neglected diseases. These initiatives are crucial in guaranteeing that forthcoming generations have continued access to superior natural medications.
