Major research interests include 1) the isolation and structural elucidation of secondary compounds synthesized by plants, and investigation into their ecological functions, cellular localization, biosynthesis and ultimate utilization; 2) the discovery of bioactive secondary metabolites (antifeedants, insecticides, and anti-infective especially antifungal agents) based on chemical ecology.
