A delegation of the Institute of Traditional Medicine (ITM), Ministry of Health (MH), Lao PDR, led by its Director Prof. Bounhong Southavong and Deputy Director Associate Prof. Kongmany Sydara , visited Kunming Institute of Botany on March 5th. Director Bounhong Southavong and Director LI De-Zhu, in representative of ITM-MH and KIB-CAS, signed on the MOU to renew the parties’ cooperation for another five years. ITM-MH and KIB-CAS have already launched three times of scientific expedition in Laos regarding the research of plant taxonomy and biogeography during the year of 2008 and 2012. For the next five-year-plan, the two sides will lay more efforts on the cooperative research of phytochemistry. Furthermore, staffs and young scientists of ITM will be invited to KIB for short-term training and study.
