On 8th December, a 12-person delegation led by Mr. Guy Beatson, Deputy Secretary of New Zealand Ministry for the Environment, visited Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB) and met with Dr. LI De-Zhu, the director of KIB, as well as some scientists working in KIB on biodiversity conservation. Views on topics such as land use, economic plants research and climate change were exchanged during the meeting, through which the officers and scientists from the New Zealand delegation had a deeper understanding on KIB’s work and effort on biodiversity conservation.
Afterwards, the delegation visited the herbarium, the Germplasm Bank of Wild Species, Southwest China as well as the Kunming Botanic Garden located within KIB.
