A Givaudan delegation led by Dr. Jürg Witmer, the current Chairman of the Givaudan Group, visited Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB) on 17th April, and is warmly welcomed by KIB’s director SUN Hang. The delegation wishes to learn about KIB’s research capacity on natural flavor and fragrance and to explore the possibility of future cooperation with between.
KIB is highly experienced with taking multidisciplinary approach to research and utilize aromatic plants. Its ethnobotany researchers, taxonomists and phytochemistry scientists are working together to identify and collect useful plant species according to the recorded traditional knowledge, followed by the analyzing and testing of bioactive compounds contained in these plants for a better utilization. KIB is now cooperating with several cosmetic companies home and abroad to explore the beauty brought by plants.
