During his visit in KIB, Angus Robertson made a report themed the Scottish Government's Response to the Dual Crisis of Biodiversity and Climate Change, shared with KIB faculty and students about Scotland’s approach to the twin crises including Scotland’s Biodiversity Strategy and aims for COP28, as well as its efforts to join with partners to share ideas, practical solutions and lessons learned.
Angus Robertson witnessed the agreement signing ceremony between Kunming Institute of Botany and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), and planted a tree in Kunming Botanical Garden, together with the representatives of KIB and RBGE, to commemorate the friendship and cooperation. The delegation visited the Germplasm Bank of Wild Species and the Greenhouses of Kunming Botanical Garden, to learn more about KIB’s endeavor and achievements made on biodiversity conservation.
It is learned that Angus Robertson is the first senior official of the Scottish government to visit China since 2020, and the visit is aimed at promoting the mutually beneficial cooperation especially in the field of biodiversity conservation.
